Born in 1940, Edward Yadzinski studied clarinet with William Gasbarro at Wilkes College and Stanley Hasty at the Eastman School of Music. He joined the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra as a clarinetist and saxophonist in 1963. As an avant-garde performer, he has appeared across the United States, Canada and Europe, including solo performances at the Warsaw Autumn Festival and Nuits de la Fondation Maeght at Saint-Paul-de-Vence. His recordings include Echoi, by Lukas Foss, with the composer at the piano. Yadzinski is a professor of clarinet and saxophone at the State University of New York at Buffalo and has also been Visiting Professor at the University of California at San Diego. As a composer Yadzinski has written various chamber music works and a ballet for full orchestra. He has also scored many adaptations for saxophones, including the music of Mahler, Villa-Lobos, Respighi, Bernstein and Tcherepnin.
